Beginning in 2012, Nathaniel Price, upon returning to his hometown, began working with local nonprofits in Georgetown, KY as a volunteer. Over the next year and a half, it was noticed many programs lacked a developmental approach, offering mostly relief-oriented programs. In consultation with other nonprofit leaders from other communities, a group of concerned individuals began exploring the possibility of starting a nonprofit that would focus on community development and poverty alleviation. In January of 2015, the group formed a board and began the process of incorporating Transform Scott County, Inc.

We are committed to this mission: “To foster transformative relationships by engaging leaders of good faith and good will, building the capacity of others, and developing joint programming initiatives.” Our goals are to engage individuals in our community through relationship for the purposes of poverty alleviation and total well-being. We do this by working with other nonprofits, businesses, churches, and the local school district.

Since our launch, we have blazed a path of new ventures in Scott County. We are the only organization in Scott County to offer a financial literacy program that is geared toward those struggling in poverty situations. We are the only organization in Scott County to offer a soft-skills job training program. We are the only organization in Scott County to partner with the local school district to offer both inside and outside of school mentoring programs.
