Beginning in 2012, Nathaniel Price, upon returning to his hometown, began working with local nonprofits in Georgetown, KY as a volunteer.  Over the next year and a half, it was noticed many programs lacked a developmental approach, offering mostly relief-oriented programs.  In consultation with other nonprofit leaders from other communities, a group of concerned individuals began exploring the possibility of starting a nonprofit that would focus on community development and poverty alleviation.

In January of 2015, the group formed a board and began the process of incorporating Transform Scott County, Inc.  The board adopted a slogan as follows: “Transforming Scott County, one person at a time.”
